What a wonderful week Year 3 have had to cap off Term 4! Thank you for all the amazing effort that was put into the children's Roman Day costumes.
Maths
In Maths this week, we have learnt how to tell the time. We recapped o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to before moving on to 5 minute intervals, telling the time to the nearest minute and comparing analogue and digital.
English
We finished reading Enid Blyton's 'The Magic Faraway Tree'. The children absolutely loved the book and it's creative, unique story. We wrote a book review and completed our AR quiz on the book in Guided Reading. In English, we wrote in role, varied our sentence lengths and wrote a showpiece about the Land of Spring.
Thematic
This week, we completed our Top Up Teaching for Revolutionary Romans and we learned about a number of Jewish celebrations including Passover and Hanukkah in our RE lessons. On Roman Day, which was a celebration of our topic, we created our own larariums, undertook some Roman numeral investigations and wrote in role as a Roman soldier. We also explored a range of different texts about Ancient Rome.
Love to Learn
Over the holidays, please could children research spiders and present their research in a creative way of their choosing. This will then allow us to really hit the ground running in Week 1 of Term 5.
