One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly News! 20.6.23

Year 3 have had another wonderful week this week. Here's what we've been up to:

Maths
In Maths this week, we have continued looking at multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 but this week going into decimals. We also looked at how to convert between different measures including masses and lengths. Next week, we will be looking at Time.

English
This week, we have continued reading our Term 6 text, ' The Magical Journey of Edward Tulane' and were shocked when Edward ended up at the dump. We have continued writing to show viewpoint and sent a postcard from Edward at the dump showing his viewpoint. We then completed a showpiece writing as Edward from a different location.

Thematic
This week, we continued our Term 6 Thematic unit of 'Rainforests'. We started by completing an experiment to see if plants with more roots would absorb more water before we also completed a Find Someone Who to demonstrate our knowledge of how water is transported through a plant before completing a performace to show what we had a learned about Pollination.

For home learning this week, please could children create a mind map (or another creative way of showing the information) with everything they know about TIME.
