We have made it to the end of Term 5 and we should be proud of how successful it has been. From our class assemblies to two trips to the local area, it’s been busy every day!
English
This week, we have written non-chronological reports about the Victorians. Using parentheses and also bullet points for a list, we carefully structured our writing. We also wrote an appropriate opening and ending to our non-chronological reports.
Next term, we are going to be exploring a short film. In this animation, we learn about an old man and some memories of his life. We will explore the emotions of the piece.
Maths
This week, we learned how to add and subtract decimals up to 3 dp. We learnt then to solve problems using these skills.
Next term, we will be increasing our skills of using co-ordinates. We will use all four quadrants when translating shapes.
Thematic/RE
This week, we have completed this terms learning about our harbour. We used maps to find out about other places. We also made origami ‘little ships’ and floated them on water.
Next term, we will be exploring the theme of ‘Your Words Can Hurt’. We will explore how to use kind words and also avoid others’ unkind word. Using song lyrics, we will be contributing to a whole school piece of learning.
Love to Learn
For half term holiday, please have fun with your family. Take time to relax, enjoy the sun (hopefully) and do the things you love. We look forward to seeing you on the first week back.
