Weekly News! 5.9.25
Welcome to the first blog of the year. As mentioned at the parents meeting in June and at the 1:1 meetings in July, this is our way of sharing with you the wonderful things that your child has been doing at school. Each week, we will detail what we have been doing along with sharing photos of this, important messages and key dates.
The children have had an exceptionally great start to their school life at Chilton this week. It has been lovely to see them coming into school with smiles on their faces! This week, we have been introducing the children to key members of staff around the school, getting to know the classroom and outside area as well as learning about some of the routines we follow at Chilton.
Thank you to the families who have returned the children’s Love to Learn books. These are looking great and we are excited to start sharing these next week. If you haven’t returned it yet, please hand to your child’s class teacher on Monday (8th September). Thank you for your hard work in helping your child to create these!
Dress to Express Day:
Our first mini topic is called ‘Marvellous Me’. Over the next few weeks we will be learning about what makes us all special. To end this learning, we would like the children to come into school on Friday 26th September dressed in clothes that expresses what they like or shows us something about them (e.g. wearing a football shirt if they like football, wearing an apron if they like cooking etc). Please do not buy anything for this, use what you have at home already! Please make sure that children have sensible footwear as this is likely to be our first PE lesson day too (more details about PE to follow in future blogs).
Important Messages:
-
We will let you know when PE will start.
-
Please could all children have a named water bottle in school everyday.
-
Please ensure that all clothes are named.
-
Children are allowed to bring in a pair of (named) wellies. These can be left under their peg.
-
Children will have brought a book home from the book corner. These are to be shared at home. You can return these as often as you like and replace with a new book to be shared at home.
