Weekly News –22.06.26

We want to say a huge well done to Year 3, they have all coped exceptionally well in this incredibly hot weather. We are more than happyh for them to continue pringing in their fans to help them keep cool.
Maths
This week in Maths, we continued to develop our understanding of multiplying by 100 by converting between millilitres and litres, and grams and kilograms. The children worked hard to recognise the relationships between these units and apply their knowledge when solving problems. Next week, we will be recapping and developing our understanding of time by converting between seconds, minutes and hours.
English
This week in English, we have been focusing on using compound sentences in our writing and continuing to include correctly punctuated direct speech. The children have worked hard to make their writing more varied and engaging by combining different sentence structures.
Next week, we will be creating our own non-chronological reports and focusing on using a range of different sentence types to make our writing clear and interesting.
Thematic
This week in Thematic, we have been identifying the different parts of plants and flowers and learning about the important role each part plays.
Next week, we will be exploring how water is transported through plants and why leaves are important for plant survival.
Home Learning
The children have taken home their lines for our Year 3 Assembly on Thursday 9th July , attached to the lines is a slip of paper with the outfit we would like them to wear if possible. Please can their outfits come into school in a named bag by Monday 6th July.
Their Love to Learn this week is to continue practising them.
