English
This week, Year 6 wrote a narrative to the short film: Alma. The children focused on description, mood, tone and atmosphere. As part of their guided reading lessons, year 6 continued to improve their comprehension skills by reading and answering questions linked to a variety of texts. Next week, the children will plan and write a commentary to the documentary: snakes verses iguana.
Maths
Year 6 focused on their percentages of amounts this week. They have learnt how to find 1%, 10%, 25% and 50% of an amount. Next week, Year 6 will be looking at money word problems. Learning next week will be all practical and will start with Year 6 being given a fictional budget that they can spend in the Year 6 shop!
Thematic
This week, Year 6 have focused on their Design Technology skills and have learnt about seasonal foods and why seasons are important. Next week, Year 6 will design and make their own healthy snack.
