English

This week, Year 6 wrote in role as two different characters from our text – Kensuke's Kingdom.  The children focused on showing how both characters spoke and acted differently from one another.  The children used dialogue and weaved action throughout their writing.  They also spent time describing the island through art and in their writing.

Maths

This week, Year 6 returned to converting units of measure.  They used their multiplying and dividing skills to convert mass, capacity and length.  Next week, Year 6 will look at ratio and proportion.

Thematic

This week, Year 6 finished the first half of their thematic topic – Paths to Peace.  The children learnt how WW2 ended and what events took place.  Our Reading for Pleasure this week was focused on WW2 songs – watch the children here! https://vimeo.com/1177633328/c43f4e0008?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci

We finished the week working together as a year group to complete our Big Fat Quiz of the term and spent time answering questions about what we have learnt so far.  Next week, Year 6 will return to RE lessons in the afternoon as usual.  Year 6 will return to the topic Paths to Peace in Term 5.
