English
In English this week, the children continued to plan and write a narrative based on a clip of the BFG. The children wrote a conversation exchange between the giant and the Queen, focusing on formality and style of voice.
Art:
Last week we made sculptures linked to PSHE topic, ‘Words Can Hurt’. The children worked in the medium of clay and used various techniques such as to shape, form, model and join clay. In addition, the children experimented with form, breaking down a figure into a series of abstract shapes.

Author Visit
On Friday, we were very lucky to have a visit from a local author named Zoe Antoniedes. The writer gave an assembly to children based on her own journey to become an author and answered many of the questions the children were enthusiastic to find out about.
Production
This week the children have spent a great deal of time rehearsing for their end of year production. Year 6 have been fantastic at immersing themselves in their roles, and we have been very impressed with their efforts thus far.
We would appreciate it if you could continue to learn your lines for our performance (if you have them) and practise our songs. We would also like you to start to gather your costumes for the performance. Children have been told what they will need to wear on the day. Please bring them in by Monday 29th June in a named carrier bag.
