Home Learning
In Term 3, Year 6 will be learning about the Vikings. We would like the children to spend some time researching the Vikings. They can present their learning in any way they choose: a booklet, a presentation, a video, a poster. The children can bring their learning in, or they can email their learning to their class teacher (please find their emails below). Here is a good website for research.

Please see a reading challenge that has been set by Mrs Walker:

English
This week, the children finished their non-chronological report on Climate Change. They spent time writing formally, using paragraphs and sub-headings to present their writing and used subject-specific vocabulary to sound like an expert. They also used parentheses to add extra information. They finished the week summarising their report, adding images and a glossary. In spelling this week, the children learnt how to spell words using the sound ou sound. Words such as cousin, touch, young and country.

Maths
This week, Year 6 looked at multiples and factors. A multiple of a number is the result you get when you multiply that number by another number. Factors are numbers which can be multiplied together to create another number. They ended the week looking at prime and composite numbers and finding a starting point to solve problems. To learn more about multiples and factors and to support your child further, here is a great website:
