What a fabulous week we have had! It has been so amazing to have all of the children back at Chilton this week. We are so proud of the way the children have settled back in to school life.
This week, we have been sharing equally. We did this practically with objects. If we had 8 objects and we shared them equally between 2 people, each person would have 4.
We have also been grouping objects in to different sized groups. We practised grouping in to groups of 2, 3 or 4. If we had 8 objects and we group in to groups of 4, we would have 2 groups.
This week is the last week of our Space topic. We have had lots of fun reading ‘How to Catch a Star’. We have predicted what we thought would happen in the story, have used drama to retell the story.
Most of the children are recapping on set 1 sounds and working on their reading and spelling of words with these sounds in. Some of the children have started to learn the set 2 sounds and are now practising reading and spelling words with these sounds in.
Please continue to read with your child as much as possible at home. Both classes have an Oxford Owl account set up where you are able to read books online. If you would like the username and password for this, please email your child’s class teacher.
Friday 19th March is Comic Relief Day – the children will need to come in to school (if they wish) with crazy hair for a £1 donation.
Hopefully you received the text to say that on Thursday 1st April, the children will need to come in to school dressed as their own Superhero. They will need to discuss with you at home what superhero they would like to come as and what super power(s) they will have.
Please could you make sure that all clothes are named. It makes returning items of clothing a lot easier if this is done.
Many thanks for all of your continued support.
