One Childhood, One Chance

Reception News

Rain, rain, go away!

This week has been fun packed, despite the persistent rain. On Monday, we did not make the trip to Ramsgate Arts Primary for our Viking games, due to the weather. However, Team Periwinkle and Team Teal had their own Viking games in the school hall. We had 4 events, including throwing, jumping, running and balancing. The children had a fantastic time. We extend our thanks to Miss Knight and Mr Lowther for their hard work with the event.

In Literacy this week, we have continued our work on minibeasts. We have made our very own 'Life the Flap' books, with key facts about minibeasts. The children have continued to focus on learning to write simple sentences independently. We are currently focusing on remembering our finger spaces and full stops.

In Maths, we have been learning our number bonds to 5, 6 and 10. The children are now very good at knowing which two numbers make 10.

Upcoming events:

26th June at 9am in the school hall is our Reception assembly

Thursday 4th July the children will be spending the morning with their new teacher in the year 1 classrooms. We also have Open Evening from 5.30-7.30 that night.
