One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly news 15/11

Year 1 have been busy learning bees this week!

In maths, we have continued our learning about money.  We have been adding two amounts and finding change. Please ask your children about their new maths vocabulary this week :-)

Next week in maths we will be learning about length- comparing different lengths, measuring from the correct starting point and measuring using non standard units eg cubes.

In topic this week, we have been focussing on Kindness and Values. We have discussed how our own actions affect other people and how we can control our own emotions.

Love to learn:

For your love to learn we would like you to research jobs from the past- especially jobs which are not around so much anymore. What has changed in the working community over the past century. Speak to members of your family, neighbours and other adults you know, about their experiences too. This home learning is due in on Wednesday 27th November.

Team Periwinkle class assembly:

We would like to say a massive thank you to the parents who attended our class assembly and helped your children to learn their lines. We think you'll agree with us that they did us all proud. Well done team Periwinkle!

Parent teacher consultations

Just a reminder that we have parent teacher consultations next week. If you would like to make an appointment please do so as soon as possible.

Have a great weekend!

Below are some photos showing the children finding the difference (change) in our maths lesson.
