Term 3 Week 4
This week in Maths we started the week by recapping our learning of subtraction. We used a number line and noticed we had to jump the other way! We also really challenge ourselves this week and looked at lots of word problems. We looked for the most important information and used a number line to help us answer.
In Topic this week we have been learning about our basic needs and why they are so important to us! Water, Air, Food, Shelter and Sleep! We had to decide if certain things were something we needed or something we wanted. It was a very tough decision to make when bikes and LOL dolls were on the list, but they guessed correctly they are a “want.”
We have also started looking at the Story ‘Bog Baby’. Two little girls go walking in bluebell wood and rescue a Bog Baby. They make the small creature a beautiful home in a bucket, tickle him and feed him cake crumbs.
Despite the girls' care and attention, the Bog Baby gets sick, so they confide in their mother, who isn't cross as they had feared, but tells them they must let their Bog Baby go back to the wild. Although they want to keep him, such is their love for him that they set him free.
We created some fantastic leaflets explaining how to care for a Bog Baby and used our new knowledge about basic needs to help us. We will be going on a Bog Baby hunt, using our senses, to try and find our own Bog Baby!
This week we would like you to create your own exercise routine! This can be presented any way you wish. For example, a poster or a video clip. (Can be sent to our emails) Have fun!
A reminder, next week is online safety week, on the 5th February is Safer Internet Day. We will be looking at how to stay safe online! Also can we remind you that hair should be tied back for school and please remember PE kits. Thank you! :)
