One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly news

On Wednesday afternoon, year 2 went to Dane Court to take part in 4 sporting events. They threw a vortex, did a standing long jump, ran 300m and had a sprinting race! They all took part well and were very respectful to the Dane Court pupils who ran the events.

In maths, they have been learning about describing turns using vocabulary such as quarter, half, clockwise and anti-clockwise. They then combined this with compass points to give directions. The children were amazing at this!

In English, they continued writing about The Magic Faraway Tree, focussing on using ambitious language to make their writing as exciting as possible.

Transition day 4th July: On Thursday, every class will spend the morning with their new teacher. Children are to come to their normal classroom in the morning then will go to their new classroom from assembly. They will be picked up from their normal classroom.

Open evening 4th July: from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm, the school will be open for parents/carers/grandparents to come and visit their child's classroom and see some of the work they have completed this year. This is also an opportunity to visit your child's new teacher!
