HOME LEARNING

For our final home learning task of the year, we are holding a year 2 talent show. So practise your talent! This can be part of a group or a individual performance.

In maths this week, year 2 have revisited learning from earlier on during the year as a recap. They have been partitioning numbers in different ways e.g. 56 = 50 and 6 or 56 = 40 and 16. They have also been recombining numbers to grasp a true understanding of their knowledge e.g. What does 4 tens and 3 tens and 2 ones make? We have also been playing times tables games are are extremely impressed by the speed that they can recall them. Well done!

In English, they have read a non-fiction text about sharks! They researched sharks on iPads before creating their own non-chronological report including contents, paragraphs, sub-headings and pictures.

Wednesday 17th July: Cinema trip for those children who have kept all their behaviour points. Please speak to your class teacher if you have any queries about lost points. Also, children going on this trip will be provided with lunch and can choose which sandwich filling they would like.

Friday 19th July: Sports day! Parents are invited in to join a family picnic on the field from 12 - 1 then key stage 1 sports day will take place in the afternoon. Once this has finished, children can be collected from their classroom.
