One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly blog - 06.11.20

Wow! What an incredible return to school. Year 3 have come back ready and raring to go. We have been so impressed with their enthusiasm and work ethic.

English

This term we will be reading a series of books by the author Anthony Browne. This week we read the wonderful: Into the Forest. We have been writing diary entries from the view point of the a little boy in the story. We wrote about how he felt whilst walking through a mystical forest full of fairy tale characters and about the people he met. Finally we rewrote the story in our own words using story maps that we created.

Maths

This week we continued working with fractions. We began by identifying fractions of objects, then started to identify tenths as a fraction. Finally, we looked at putting fractions on a number line and counting past one whole.

PSHE

The focus of PSHE this week has been worries. We have discussed some of the things that may cause us to worry and how we deal with those worries. We made worry monsters that are able to eat our worries when we feel overwhelmed. We also wrote books called Why Worry, telling us that everybody worries and listing some tactics to help us feel better.

Love To Learn

Your task this week is to decorate your Love To Learn book. It needs to reflect your personality, your interests and passions. Be creative, be adventurous and have fun! (Team Sky will be given their books on Monday.)
